GRAND DESIGN ENTRY SEASON 9

WHERE OLD MEETS NEW

We design our Residential project with a modern, clean look that is both practical and inspirational. The Residential Buildings offers a unique and enjoyable experience suited to the main user, no matter their age. b | studio was inspired by the region’s architecture and natural environment and our team decided to base the design of the project on those elements.

New Century

Based in the Sutherland Shire, the brief was very clear a modern dwelling to house the family of 5. The site is situated

with overlooking views of Cronulla Beach from the upper level.

New Heights

Extended over three levels, a major renovation to the existing 80's home a blend of modern and rustic styles to help the proposal blend into the existing architectural language in the surrounding, which is predominantly of the australian red brick neighbourhood.  

ALTERATION AND ADDITIONS

ANNADALE

Development Application Approved

Alterations and additions that incorporates an additional storey and modification to the ground level. There is no
change to the front façade and the upper level is setback 300mm from the existing roof.

An increase in open space to increase outdoor living opportunities, 2 bedrooms an en-suite and a main bathroom

 

ANNADALE

Development Application Approved

This development is the neighbouring property from the property above. Finished with elegant timber flooring on the ground floor the addition of the upper level including 2 bedrooms, new main bathroom an ensuite and private open space all within the restriction of this small site.

BELLEVUE HILL

Development Application Approved

The proposed development added a double garage at ground floor level and a whole new first floor level. First floor addition included a master bedroom with walk in robe and en-suite, 2 Bedroom a bathroom room a living area and a Kitchen. It provided a secondary living unit.

FALCONBRIDGE

Development Application Lodged

In area of ​​320m2, the criteria of organization was to provide the best views of the valley below by organizing the program with the main living components on the upper floor and the recreation and guest components on the lower ground floor.

The house was divided into two volumes consisting of a lower volume that supports a future living areas for the kids.

BOTANY

Pre Development Application

The integration of old and the new can be seen throughout the home, most prominently through the way the original building unfurls to the street elevation, but further balanced with the scale, the materials and the pitch of the roof. There’s no jarring elements to this contemporary renovation, instead it feels like the natural progression of the home from the traditional entry through to the modern living spaces at the rear.

CARINGBAH

Design Development- Concept/Precedent Image

The program for the house responded to the clients who were upsizing from a family house to one that was more focused on the teenage years. While still accommodating rooms for visiting adults. The rooms are purpose-built to meet their needs including shared study and extra-large master ensuite including private outdoor spaces this is a particularly unexpected detail in an urban context.

VAUCLUSE

Development Application Approved

The proposal was for knock down and rebuild to an existing dwelling-house including a second storey, a rooftop terrace and associated landscape works.
It adds value to the streetscape through the introduction of a quality contemporary design that respects the predominant scale, siting and style of houses of the Vaucluse/ Dover Heights area.

DUAL OCCUPANCY

Client provided us with concept/precedent images for what they envisaged to be their ideal Dual Occupancy Residence. This one is still at the design development stage.

LILLI PILLI

Development Application - Approved

The proposal introduces a modern, yet contextually responsive building form to the street that will assist in raising the bar for quality dual occupancy design.

The architectural style, materials and colours of the proposed development all complement the essence of this attractive suburban locality.

GYMEA BAY

BANKSIA

Its architectural style gave a modern look, exploiting the large area to the rear of the property providing ample space to integrate itself to the external area.

GYMEA

A huge family pool leading of the main house, which included an under cover BBQ area and Pergola, to make a complete entertainment area for family and friends.
